BIOGRAPHY

Mary Flaig  was born and raised in Fairfield, Connecticut. Displaying an early interest in drawing, which deepened while taking college art courses, she later became apprenticed to the late, internationally known artist, Robert E. Driscoll. He instructed her in painting and frame making. Together, in 1979, they worked on the artistic restoration of Brazilian Court Hotel, in Palm Beach, Florida--painting watercolors for the bedrooms, as well as frescoes in the lobby and lounge areas. They also did commissions for estates and homes in Palm Beach. Her work was shown at Bagatelle, on Worth Avenue, in Palm Beach, until the owner's death and at the Robert E. Driscoll Gallery, at the Osterville Harbor. Since that time, she has displayed her work at other major Cape Cod galleries. Working in several styles, her favorite being Realistic Impressionism, she has a diverse range of subject matter, including seascapes, marine paintings, animals and floral works. Her paintings are in numerous private collections.
